A new online portal allowing researchers to search archive catalogues across Scotland has just been launched.
Your Scottish Archives is similar to The National Archives’ Discovery search engine, which covers archives in England and Wales.
It allows researchers to search the record listings of over 60 Scottish archives, including local authority, health, business and community archives, as well as records of under-represented groups.
It also has information guides to help researchers get more out of different kinds of archives.
It is managed by the Scottish Council on Archives (SCA) in partnership with Jisc, Archives Hub and the National Records of Scotland.
SCA said that phase two of the website would be launched in spring 2025 and include improved hierarchical display of records and search functionality. Collections from more archives will also be added in the future.
