On this week's episode of Who Do You Think You Are?, quiz show presenter and crime novelist Richard Osman discovers his family history. Here's five things you might not know about Richard Osman...

1. Bass-playing brother

Richard was born in 1970 and grew up in Cuckfield, West Sussex. His older brother is Mat Osman, bass guitarist with the rock band Suede.

2. Games genius

In 2009, Richard developed the idea for TV quiz show Pointless, which he co-presented with Alexander Armstrong until 2022.

3. Terrific TV

Richard has also presented programmes including Child Genius and Richard Osman’s House of Games.

4. Whodunnit?

Richard published his debut novel The Thursday Murder Club, about a group of retirees who get together to solve a murder, in 2020. The book was an instant bestseller, selling 45,000 copies in its first three days on sale. In 2021 he followed it with a sequel, The Man Who Died Twice.

5. Fulham fan

Richard is a Fulham F.C. season ticket holder.
