What is No Taste Like Home?

No Taste Like Home with Antoni Porowski is National Geographic’s new TV series, combining family history, travel and food.

Each episode will see presenter Antoni Porowski and a celebrity guest go on a culinary journey to explore their roots.

Antoni Porowski said: “It’s a beautiful adventure to discover our past through the great connector that is food. I’m honoured to go on this journey of self-discovery with new and old friends alongside National Geographic as we learn together about the ways different cultures celebrate food and experience their traditions.”

How to watch No Taste Like Home

All the episodes of No Taste Like Home will be available to watch on Disney+ from Monday 24 February. They will also air weekly on National Geographic, starting at 10pm on Wednesday 26 February.

Who presents No Taste Like Home?

Antoni Porowski is a Canadian television personality, cook, model and author. He is best known for appearing as the food and wine expert on the Netflix reality series Queer Eye.

Florence Pugh's English Odyssey

English actress Florence Pugh received an Oscar nomination in 2020 for her performance in Little Women and has starred in acclaimed films including Midsommar, Black Widow, Dune: Part Two and We Live in Time. In No Taste Like Home, Antoni helps Florence explore the origins of her family’s passion for food as they travel through Oxford, the Yorkshire coast and London. Together, they encounter delicious dishes and discover stories of ancestors whose livelihoods set in motion this embrace of food that has transcended generations.

Florence Pugh's English Odyssey will air on Disney+ from Monday 24 February and on National Geographic at 10pm on Wednesday 26 February.

Awkwafina's Korean Homecoming

Actress, comedian and rapper Awkwafina has created and starred in the comedy series Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens, won a Golden Globe for her performance in The Farewell and appeared in films including Crazy Rich Asians and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Awkwafina lost her mother at a young age. Eager to help her reconnect with her South Korean culinary and ancestral heritage, Antoni curates a voyage of discovery filled with new experiences, family revelations, and evocative flavors, which combine to give Awkwafina a new perspective on her own identity.

Awkwafina's Korean Homecoming will air on Disney+ from Monday 24 February and on National Geographic at 10pm on Wednesday 5 March.

Justin Theroux's Italian Quest

Justin Theroux is an actor and filmmaker, best known for starring in the TV series The Leftovers and films including Bumblebee and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

In Justin Theroux's Italian Quest, Justin and Antoni head to Italy to seek the origins of Justin's family pasta dish. From chasing chickens to harvesting clams, they sample the region’s finest food and uncover how Justin’s Italian ancestry relates to a family dish that made its way across the Atlantic.

James Marsden's German Dish Up

James Marsden is famous for playing Cyclops in the X-Men film series and starring in films including The Notebook, Enchanted and Sonic the Hedgehog, and can currently be seen in the Disney+ series Paradise.

In James Marsden's German Dish Up, James and Antoni want to find out the origins of the Marsden family's beloved fried chicken steak. They travel from Texas to Germany to find out more about James' family history. While dining with royalty and scaling the Bavarian Alps, they unearth dramatic secrets behind James’ ancestors’ decision to emigrate.

Issa Rae's Senegalese Roots

Issa Rae created and starred in the TV series Insecure and has appeared in films including Barbie and American Fiction. In Issa Rae's Senegalese Roots, Antoni takes Issa to her father’s homeland of Senegal, where they uncover ancestral stories of powerful women and royal connections. Through this culinary journey, Issa learns more about her family’s epic history and how it all relates to her own identity.

Henry Golding's Malaysian Adventure

Actor Henry Golding has starred in films including Crazy Rich Asians, A Simple Favor and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. In Henry Golding's Malaysian Adventure, Antoni takes Henry to Borneo, where they unearth family stories and taste their way to a deeper connection with Henry’s mother’s Iban heritage. As they cook with long-lost family and newfound friends, Henry learns that genealogy in this oral tradition is about far more than storytelling.
